INTERESTED IN BROADCASTING ON TV ?
If you have had difficulties in getting broadcast time in the media or in reaching new audiences for your programming ideas, you may be interested in broadcasting with us here on SCTV.
We are the first free-to-air, community-owned and operated TV station to be broadcast by satellite. Our satellite coverage is to the whole of Australia, and SCTV broadcasts programs that have been produced in Sydney, the Illawarra, the Hunter, and Bathurst in NSW, Queanbeyan/Canberra, and South Australia.
SCTV has established a transmission relationship with UBI World TV whose platform carries the SCTV signal via the Optus B3 satellite reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers. UBI itself has many satellite channels devoted to community language programming. To watch us you will need a receiver and a small satellite dish pointed to the Optus B3 satellite (approx. due north, 10 degrees from the horizontal).
SCTV is leading the way to further initiatives for community broadcasters in the regions by establishing an efficient, modestly-resourced, decentralized model catering to the needs of community groups who would normally struggle to find a voice in mainstream media, particularly for those viewers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
SCTV has been broadcasting 24/7 since the 27th April 2005.
